Annika grew up in Northern Canada, specifically in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. It was in the North that she developed a passion for figure skating, which she continued to train and compete in after moving to Edmonton with her family in 2014. As a competitive figure skater, Annika became increasingly aware of the lack of nutrition advice and support available for athletes, especially amid the confusing and often contradictory nutrition information. This realization inspired her to pursue a career in dietetics.
After completing her BSc in Nutrition and Food Science, with a specialization in Dietetics, Annika practiced in rural Alberta as a clinical dietitian. In November 2023, she returned to Edmonton and currently provides relief coverage as a pediatric dietitian with AHS. Recently, she has also been conducting sports nutrition workshops for figure skaters in Edmonton, aimed at enhancing athletes’ confidence in making nutrition choices for competition and training.
Throughout her time as a clinical dietitian, Annika has established a counseling practice that prioritizes shared decision-making, fosters trust, is non-judgmental, and supports behavior change. This approach helps individuals achieve personalized long- and short-term goals that respect their unique values. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee and is excited to apply the comprehensive knowledge and skills gained from the program to support individuals with training, recovery, and performance goals. Annika is registered with the College of Dietitians of Alberta and is an active member of Dietitians of Canada, where she serves as the Alberta Representative for Household Food Insecurity.
Annika is passionate about helping clients develop healthy and positive relationships with food, empowering them to make informed decisions about their nutrition. Her areas of interest and expertise include sports and performance nutrition, digestive health, intuitive and mindful eating, heart health, diabetes, and paediatric nutrition counselling.
In her spare time, Annika enjoys being outdoors and staying active. As a foodie, she loves trying out new restaurants and cafes in Edmonton, especially if sushi or cinnamon buns are on the menu!

Dr. Meagan Stachnik decided to trade the cold Alberta winter for sunny California to pursue her Doctorate of Chiropractic outside of San Francisco, at Life Chiropractic College West. Throughout her schooling, Dr. Meg was co-president of the Sport Performance Institute, serving athletes and educating peers about sport diagnostics and protocols. Life West was able to provide an extensive hands-on clinical experience that shaped Dr. Meg’s passion for Pediatrics and Perinatal care. During her time at Life West, Dr. Meg completed two life changing chiropractic service trips, in India & Tonga. The opportunity allowed her to focus on different communities, life altering diseases and injuries that not all practitioners may be able to have the opportunity to treat.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude with Gold Clinical Honors in 2023, Dr. Meagan blends a treatment style incorporating biomechanical specific rehabilitation exercise, soft tissue therapy, adjustment and mobilization. She loves working with kids, moms and weekend warriors.
Dr. Meg comes from a long line of cattle farmers and animals have a special place in her heart. Outside of the clinic you will find her working on the farm, laying on a beach somewhere, walking her dog, and coaching or joining a group fitness class. Dr. Meg is an avid reader and particularly enjoys sitting in a cafe sipping a London Fog with a great book.
